About
McGehee Law Firm, LLC
McGehee Law Firm LLC is a specialized civil litigation firm with offices in Atlanta, Georgia.
The firm is an incorporated member of Johnson & Ward, a civil litigation law firm which, for over seven decades, has concentrated in the representation of victims of catastrophic injuries and wrongful death arising out of trucking, automobile, aviation, insurance, engineering, construction, product liability, professional negligence and other complex civil litigation.
Clark H. McGehee, who founded the firm, has been a fixture in the Atlanta legal community for over 40 years, and for over four decades has focused on representing individuals and families in personal injury and wrongful death litigation. He attributes his focus on helping individuals rather than representing corporations to his grandfather, who was a Methodist minister in Alabama, and his father, a leader in the Methodist church, who both taught him to value and respect every individual and to always help others who are in need. He also attributes his becoming a plaintiff’s trial lawyer to his great uncle, Francis Hare, a nationally known trial attorney in Birmingham, Alabama, and the author of “My Learned Friends”, and his first law partner, Cullen Ward, a World War II marine veteran and one of the founding members of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, who both mentored him after his graduation from Emory Law School in 1977.
Clark H. McGehee has been listed as a “Super Lawyer” in Plaintiff’s civil litigation since 2004 in the annual Atlanta Magazine listing of top attorneys in Georgia, and is a highly rated attorney in AVVO and the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, and has also been a top-rated AV listed attorney by Martindale-Hubbell for over four decades.
Challenge and diversity characterize the firm’s civil trial practice. The firm has obtained numerous settlements and verdicts in excess of $1,000,000.00 in many different types of civil litigation, and is regularly employed in complex civil cases throughout Georgia and the Southeastern United States. Most of the firm’s clients are referred by other lawyers or former satisfied clients who know the firm’s reputation and know that the firm will always fight for them to obtain full justice.
Current and former firm members have long been active in the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and the Atlanta Bar Association. Many have served in official capacities in these organizations, and have lectured for numerous Bar related organizations, seminars and courses. Former firm members assisted in the founding of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and have served as Presidents and Vice Presidents thereafter. Current and former firm members have also served as President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Chair of the Litigation Section and in other capacities with the Atlanta Bar Association and the Georgia Bar Association, and the firm’s litigation practice continues to concentrate on assisting individuals and families in catastrophic wrongful death and personal injury claims.
The emphasis at McGehee Law Firm is on the successful resolution of our clients’ cases and includes the use of all forms of new technology, alternative dispute resolution, the most up-to-date legal resources available, and current legal scholarship. Client Reviews
Clark McGehee and members of his law firm, Johnson & Ward, in Atlanta, Georgia, have always done a great job for me and my family. They handled a car wreck case for me many years ago and got a great result, and recently, on July 31, 2020, they obtained a great settlement for my daughter and her infant children in a car wreck case that occurred in 2019. He and his firm have always been responsive and answered any questions we have, and have always worked hard and provided personal service. He and other members of his firm always go the extra mile to obtain the best results for their clients and do not treat their clients like just another number, as many of the big advertising firms do, but instead give old fashioned personal legal service and advice to their clients. I recommend him highly.”
BrianClark is a dedicated attorney who is professional and efficient. One of the best aspects about Clark is that he focuses on getting the case resolved from day one. While litigating against him, he remained focused on the key issues of the case and did not protract litigation unnecessarily. He did an excellent job of making his client relatable and simplifying the complex legal issues. Throughout the litigation, he was able to maintain credibility and integrity in his arguments which helped get the case resolved at mediation. Clark's approach to advocating for his clients is productive and effective and any potential client would be well represented Clark.”
